Announcing 2018's Fluegelman Bunnell Award Fellows

As always, judging 2018's Fluegelman Bunnell Award was an inspiring exercise. Reading the applications, the judges were introduced to conscientious scholars and dedicated members of their communities, who are triumphing in challenging circumstances and full of optimism for their futures.

Here are this year's 10 fellows and the universities they'll attend this fall:

Now Accepting Applications For The 2018 Fluegelman Bunnell Award

The application process is now open for this year's Fluegelman Bunnell Award. We're looking for San Francisco Bay Area high school seniors who have overcome significant economic, social and family hardships, and who have contributed to their communities by participating in after-school and/or community programs. Our judges will select fellows based on need and the excellence of answers to essay questions; those selected will receive new laptop computers to take to college.

The deadline to apply is April 30, 2018; we'll announce this year's honorees in June.

Meet the 2017 Fluegelman Bunnell Fellows

This year's ten fellows received their MacBook Pros at a luncheon in Oakland on June 24. Their new laptops will help them at college as they pursue the education they'll need for their planned careers in areas ranging from computer science to medicine to filmmaking. Announcing the 2017 Fluegelman Bunnell Fellows

The entries for this year's Fluegelman Bunnell Awards were impressive and inspiring, and choosing only ten from the hundreds of contenders was truly difficult. But the Fluegelman Bunnell Fund advisers have selected this year's honorees, each of whom will receive a MacBook Pro laptop to take to college.
