On June 29, we welcomed this year’s Fluegelman Bunnell fellows to our annual luncheon at Kingston 11 in Oakland, where they received their HP Envy laptops. You can read more about these outstanding students here. And here are some photos from the event.
On December 9, ERA Art Bar and Lounge was once again host to our annual “Night in Monte Carlo Night” fundraiser. Dozens of supporters gathered for a memorable night of gaming, drink, and refreshments, all to help fund our ability to give laptops to underserved Bay Area college-bound students.

On June 16 at Kingston 11 in Oakland, the 2018 Fluegelman Bunnell Award fellows received their HP Envy x360 laptops at our annual luncheon. Helping them celebrate were the Fluegelman Bunnell advisors and other friends of the program, including our special guest, Golden State Warriors center Damian Jones.

As always, judging 2018's Fluegelman Bunnell Award was an inspiring exercise. Reading the applications, the judges were introduced to conscientious scholars and dedicated members of their communities, who are triumphing in challenging circumstances and full of optimism for their futures.
Here are this year's 10 fellows and the universities they'll attend this fall:

The application process is now open for this year's Fluegelman Bunnell Award. We're looking for San Francisco Bay Area high school seniors who have overcome significant economic, social and family hardships, and who have contributed to their communities by participating in after-school and/or community programs. Our judges will select fellows based on need and the excellence of answers to essay questions; those selected will receive new laptop computers to take to college.
The deadline to apply is April 30, 2018; we'll announce this year's honorees in June.

On December 9, Era Art Bar and Lounge in Oakland hosted a Monte Carlo Night benefit for the Fluegelman Bunnell Fund. Attendees packed the place to mingle, listen to music, eat food provided by Oakland's Kingston 11, and play table games. They weren't playing for money, but for the chance to win prizes ranging from hotel and restaurant packages to sports tickets to memorabilia such as an autographed Steph Curry basketball and Golden State Warriors T-shirt. And the real winners will be the college-bound high school seniors who will receive laptop computers paid for with funds raised at the event.
Our thanks to the attendees, prize donors, Era and Kingston 11 teams, and everyone else who made this memorable evening possible. As always, you can give to the Fluegelman Bunnell Fund online.

This year's ten fellows received their MacBook Pros at a luncheon in Oakland on June 24. Their new laptops will help them at college as they pursue the education they'll need for their planned careers in areas ranging from computer science to medicine to filmmaking. The entries for this year's Fluegelman Bunnell Awards were impressive and inspiring, and choosing only ten from the hundreds of contenders was truly difficult. But the Fluegelman Bunnell Fund advisers have selected this year's honorees, each of whom will receive a MacBook Pro laptop to take to college.

On March 22, David Bunnell's friends, colleagues, and family gathered in San Francisco to share memories of the man and what made him so special. Gary Rocchio, a friend of David's and veteran of PC World and Macworld, captured the evening in photos.
The Fluegelman Bunnell Award is now up and running at FBAward.org. Our new site allows students to apply for the award and benefactors to donate to the Fluegelman Bunnell Fund. We also feature information on our founder David Bunnell and our original namesake Andrew Fluegelman.
